Dear Berkshire Manufacturing Training Provider:

The MassHire Berkshire Workforce Board (BWB) is issuing this RFQ 2023 Manufacturing Training to select qualified providers of advanced manufacturing training services as part of a regional effort to address the workforce needs of the advanced manufacturing industry in the Berkshires. There is no predetermined number of awards; BWB will select as many or as few providers as necessary to deliver the required services within the amount of available funding. Services are for January – August 2023 and responses are due by November 30, 2022 to be considered as training vendors for 2023.

Applicants may propose to deliver training in one of several areas:

Entry Level Training: MINIMUM of 50 HOURS of TRAINING

  • Intro to Manufacturing/Machining
  • CNC Mill Concepts
  • CNC Lathe
  • Innovative entry level manufacturing training
  • Innovative pipeline opportunities

Middle Skills Training:

  • Accelerated CNC Skills
  • Intro to CAD/CAM for manufacturing including OSHA
  • On-the-Job training
  • Manufacturing certificate

Selected applicants will provide the occupational skills training and facility for training. BWB and MassHire Berkshire Career Center will have primary responsibility for recruitment, case management, and job placement, although the selected applicants will need to work in partnership with the Career Center and other partners.

Applicants may apply for more than one of the above-listed training areas; however, a single applicant may only submit one application per training area. A single applicant cannot submit multiple applications for one training area. Applicants may also apply as a partnership of more than one organization; however, each submitted application must be for one cohort in one training area. A single applicant may not apply for multiple cohorts or multiple training areas in a single application.

The services procured through this RFP would be funded through the Advanced Manufacturing Training Program administered by the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative and funded through a line item in the state budget. Any contract awarded as part of this RFP is contingent on the BWB receiving funds from MTC. Contracts for successful applicants will cover the period January 1, 2023 (estimate) through August 31, 2023 (may be extended to December 2023). Timing of contracts will be contingent on the contracting process with EOHED.  Click here for the budget form: RFP Mfg Budget sheet 10-19
