The MassHire Berkshire Workforce Board, in partnership with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Area’s Chief Elected Official, Mayor Linda Tyer of Pittsfield, is required to prepare a Four-Year 2019 Local Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Plan for Berkshire County for submission to MassHire Department of Career Services (DCS).

The Initial Local Plan covering July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018 (Cycle 1) was completed for each of the 16 Workforce Boards that comprised information that corresponds to the requirements of WIOA §108 and is located in the following documents:

  • Regional Data Package
  • Adult Basic Education Information provided to DCS
  • Local Workforce Board Strategic Plan
  • Local Umbrella Memorandum of Understanding with WIOA Partners
  • Participant Summaries and Performance Indicators

The local packages containing this information are located here:

Cycle 2 of the 4-Year Local Plan will span Fiscal Years 2019 – 2021 (July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2021) and is to provide narrative responses to a series of questions as outlined in WIOA §108(b), following a template as provided by MassHire DCS.

Beginning January 3, 2019, interested parties can obtain the Plan by:

  • Going to the Berkshire Workforce Board or
  • Obtaining a copy from the Berkshire Workforce Board at the address below

All comments must be submitted in writing, no later than February 3, 2019 to:
