Workforce Development Consultants – The Berkshire Workforce Board is seeking consultant(s) to assist with workforce development initiatives, including industry sector programming and/or job development.  The following opportunities exist:

  • Job Club/Resource Coordinator – work with MassHire Berkshire Career Center and community partners to coordinate and implement monthly job seeker job clubs throughout Berkshire County and to serve as the liaison to employment opportunities and community resources. Looking for someone who is passionate about connecting people to opportunities and a “go-to resource” for workforce information.
  • Industry sector training coordinator. Seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented individual to help implement industry sector training programs that develop a pipeline of future workers and to expand the career ladders within the manufacturing, healthcare, and hospitality sectors.  Position requires experience managing grants; working with employers, training vendors, and school systems; thorough knowledge of the Berkshire County community; and the ability to work independently, with good time management skills.
  • Employer Engagement – Seeking consultant to conduct on-site employer visits, employer round tables, and other venues to gather labor market needs from companies and to relay relevant workforce information to community partners. Establish an employer engagement strategy to connect companies with potential job seekers, interns, and career pathway development.
  • Labor Market Specialist – Seeking consultant to develop annual workforce labor market study which reviews data, compiles report, and makes recommendations regarding the Berkshire County labor market.  The report will compile employment and labor market conditions in Berkshire County including employment and unemployment levels, rates and trends; unemployment claimant characteristic; recent job trends using the ES 202 reports, and identifying broad industry trends and targeted industries including STEM, healthcare and manufacturing.

Consultant(s) will devise and implement countywide employer programs, identify critical labor market information, develop communication link with business community and employment/training providers, and/or develop relevant marketing material. Please specify your area of expertise. Qualifications include management level experience with workforce development programs, or similar projects, strong communication skills, and working independently with good time management. Knowledge of Berkshire County economy helpful.
